Duncan Fearnley opened his workshop in Worcester in 1968 and put three black wickets on the back of the bat — the first maker to use a logo in place of an ink stamp. By the 1980s it was the most recognisable mark in the game.

Duncan Fearnley grade their willow by stars: 5 star is the top grade the workshop selects, with 4 star a tier below. Within a grade, Ultimate, Test, Special and Select denote the build.
